Kristin Taylor paints in an intuitive way and the viewer is invited to respond similarly, feeling the visceral impact of the pieces. Aside from a fascination with intense emotions and colour, Kristin is mainly influenced by spirituality and nature. She creates abstract, atmospheric paintings that represent energy, freedom, potential, dreams, beauty, the universe, and sensuality beyond logic and reason.
Kristin paints mostly in oils and occasionally in acrylics. She also works in sculpture, mixed media and photography. Her artwork is held in private collections worldwide, with collectors in London, Colorado, Texas, New York, and Georgia. She exhibits often in London and also curates group shows.
Kristin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from the Colorado College in Colorado Springs, USA, and attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts (School of Fine Art) in Perpignan, France. She owned a commercial art design business as a teenager. During university, she worked as a letterpress art printer and designed bespoke tattoos. She worked as a corporate lawyer (holding two law degrees and a New York bar license) for several years before her free spirit called her back into the art world.
Kristin is based in London and works out of a studio in South East London. She grew up in cowboy country, on the rural eastern plains of Colorado Springs, USA, where her family still has a cattle ranch. Kristin has lived in New Orleans, Perpignan and Paris. She enjoys the multicultural, buzzy atmosphere of London and travels often.
